Product information

The SDI Inactive Diver/Refresher Program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an inactive diver. It's an ideal solution for certified divers who have not been diving for a while and want to rebuild confidence and competence in their scuba skills.

SDI encourages the use of this program by instructors, assistant instructors, resorts, and dive facilities when there are questions about a diver’s recent experience or training history. It also serves as an excellent starting point for those looking to continue their dive education.

The course includes at least one required in-water training dive, with skill practice tailored at the instructor’s discretion. Upon successful completion, divers may resume diving activities within the limits of their training and environmental conditions. Junior divers (ages 10–14) must dive with a parent, guardian, or dive professional.

This program can also be used as a catalyst for continuing education programs.
